Anthony J. Principi, Former Veterans Affairs Secretary, Joins GetWellNetwork Board of Directors
Bethesda, Md., Oct. 9, 2014 – GetWellNetwork®, Inc., the leader in Interactive Patient Care™ (IPC) solutions, today announced that former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Anthony J. Principi has joined the GetWellNetwork Board of Directors. As secretary of the VA under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005, Principi directed the federal government’s second largest department and was responsible for a nationwide system of health care services, benefits programs and national cemeteries for America’s 25 million living veterans and dependents.

As secretary, Principi led 230,000 VA employees in hundreds of medical centers, clinics, benefits offices and national cemeteries, and managed a budget in excess of $71 billion. After leaving the VA, President George W. Bush appointed him to chair the 2005 military Base Realignment and Closure Commission (BRAC).
